Shipping Update for U.S. Customers
At Velvette, our face, body, and hair oils are proudly made in Canada, and we’re happy to share that these items can still be shipped to the U.S. tariff-free under the current de minimis exemption (which allows shipments under $800 USD to enter the U.S. without duties or taxes).
However, due to newly imposed U.S. government tariffs effective May 2, 2025, all goods manufactured in China, Hong Kong, or Macau,which is applicable for our Exfoliating Mitts and Gua Shatools, are now subject to a 145% import tax, plus potential brokerage fees charged by the shipping courier.
Because of this, we’ve made the difficult decision to pause all U.S. shipments of the Exfoliating Mitt and Gua Sha until further notice. These tariffs are outside of our control and go directly to the U.S. government — not to Velvette.
