To be honest, I don't normally listen to folk music much, but I really enjoyed each musical performance! Our booth faced stage 2, where they held workshops/jam sessions between different artists/groups. There was so much talent - incredible music playing, beautiful voices, and more. I especially enjoyed this one act where the band played Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata Celtic style!
We shared a booth with Sam, the founder of D.I.T.R.O. She's absolutely lovely and despite having completely different brand aesthetics, we managed to put together a cohesive shared booth in a short time frame! D.I.T.R.O. makes charitable apparel, and for the folk fest, she made a series of limited edition music related posters and clothes that would donate $5 to the Calgary Drop-In Centre with every purchase.
Our booth neighbor, Amanda from Rose + Oak, makes the most amazing natural dyed silk scarves. We had long talks this whole weekend and I'm so happy to have met her! We were also happy to see Jade at Project A, Kayla Eyk and her beautiful paintings, and Tayler who we got to know a little better these past few days as well.
Thank you Jade for giving us this opportunity!! It's always a good time in Canmore!
